The last Levi’s factory closed back in 2005 in Bakersville, NC,
leaving behind a lot of NC-made fabrics. We bought a couple rolls of unsanforized Cone Mills for Levis LVC selvage denim and have been sitting on it, waiting for the right moment (It’s now).
Unsanforized fabric isn’t pre-shrunk at the mill when it’s woven, so it’s hard to use commercially today.
Victor tested different ways to shrink the denim without washing it. Letting the fabric rest in hot water for an hour before drying it out in the field at the farm did the trick.
Now we are offering this incredibly rare and special fabric, preshrunk and field-dried.
